Chelsea thump Panathinaikos 4-1 to continue Conference League dominance

Chelsea maintains dominance in the Conference League with a 4-1 win over Panathinaikos at the Athens Olympic Stadium. The Blues dominated the match, making extensive rotations with 11 changes to their usual starting line-up.

Joao Felix gave the London side a great start, opening the scoring in the 22nd minute. Just after half-time, Mihailo Mudrik doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 48th minute, before Felix scored his second seven minutes later.

Christopher Nkunku made it four from the penalty spot in the 59th minute. Panathinaikos’ winner came in the 69th minute through Facundo Pellistri, but it was too little, too late for the Greeks.

The Blues also dominated the game with 60% possession and had 14 shots, nine of which were on target.

The win made Chelsea favourites to win the Conference League Cup, but Panathinaikos struggled to stay in form in their first home game since the tragic loss of star player George Baldock.
